Local Liberal Democrats have welcomed the news that Medway Council have announced it will install electric vehicle charging points in three council owned car parks later this month at Rochester multi storey car park in Cory's Road, in Station Road car park, Rainham, and in the Commercial Road car park in Strood.
Like most Medway residents, Medway Liberal Democrats were disappointed by the announcement by Conservative Council Cllr Leader Jarrett that he intends to end the much needed and supported 'No Mow May' campaign setup by Plant Life. However, we now welcome the U-turn by the Medway Conservatives when they received a massive backlash by the public, and now have agreed to continue the campaign next year.

A 'Centre for Cities' report which tracks the recovery of high streets in Britain's cities and large towns, lists Chatham as 'being weak' in its recovery. As pubs, restaurants and non-essential shops are opened, the report states 'South East England (outside London) is the UK region which has seen the biggest number of high street store closures since lock down began'.
