Gillingham and Rainham Lib Dem criticizes UKIP MEPs over attempts to block reform of roaming charges

Did you hear UKIP MEPs last week tried to block the decision to end roaming charges in the EU?

What a farce! A party that criticises the EU on every front for wasting us money, attempted to block a decision which is going to save the average British holidaymaker £61 off their phone bill each year.

I'll be spreading the news far and wide that thanks to hard work by my local MEP Catherine Bearder and her liberal colleagues, there's more money in our pockets. From April next year, calls, texts and data usage in the EU will be four times cheaper than it is now - and from Summer 2017 it'll be exactly the same as using your phone in the UK.

This just goes to show who is really standing up for the British consumer, and what can be achieved when we work together with our neighbours.
