Chatham Roads - Ineffective Labour Councillors

Chatham Potholes

The state of the roads in Chatham is bad. This picture shows one such road:

Chatham Central is represented by 3 high profile Labour councillors, who rightly point out the state of the roads in their recent newsletter. They then proceed to use this as evidence that the Council is poorly run. However, they fail to shoulder their responsibilities as Councillors, for it is they themselves who should be taking action over such issues.

A Liberal Democrat activist based in Chatham central reported the road above to Council officers through the Lib Dem Council Group. The road is now scheduled for Major Works.

Councils cannot resolve issues unless they are reported to them. Labour Councillors are clearly not up to the job fighting for good quality infrastructure in their wards. If this is the example that the Labour Group leader and Group Whip set, then it leaves much to be desired.

The Medway Liberal Democrat Group Leader, Geoff Juby was recently branded as being "too parochial" by both Labour and Conservatives when standing up for similar improvements in Gillingham.

Vote Liberal Democrat, the party that will try to ensure your streets are kept in good order.
