Sharon praised the work of the local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) during a recent visit to Aylesbury Police station.
The Lib Dem MEP spent an afternoon alongside officers experiencing at first-hand, the valuable service that Aylesbury constabulary provide the community. Sharon was shown round the recently refurbished custodial unit and later joined a PCSO on the beat around the town centre.
Praising their fantastic work, Sharon commented:
"PCSOs are vital in building closer ties between the local community and the police.
"The work of a PCSO is far more than basic policing; they source intelligence and have proved to be an essential tool in cutting crime in our community.
"By providing a visible police presence, Aylesbury's PCSOs are helping to build a safer and more pleasant community."
